Hard Drive Reformatting

If your PC or laptop is running slow, getting blue screens, hestitating, freezing, locking up automatically shutting down or restarting you may have a problem with your hard drive.   More often than not people believe that they have to purchase a new desktop or laptop.   Fortunately, this "IS NOT TRUE" most of the time.  If your desktop or laptop has ever been infected with any type of virus, trojan, worm, spyware or malware and your or someone else has removed the infection, your registry could have been affected.   You can reformat your hard drive, reinstall your operating system and other software to restore your computer to the original state and it will perform just like it did when you purchased it.  The down side to doing this is the inconvinence of having to reload all the software you had previously installed.  Reformatting your hard drive is a drastic, but sometimes necessary measure.  However, it can save you hundreds of dollars in purchasing a new desktop or laptop.

CCR Computer Services will make every effort to restore your system to the speed and performance you had when you purchased your computer by scanning for infections, defragmentation, compression and other processes before even considering reformatting your hard drive.  Once you reformat your computer "ALL" important and priceless data, pictures and music you had is deleted and gone forever!  In the event we do have to reformat your hard drive, we make a copy of your entire hard drive before doing anything.  Then, we let the client pick the files and folders they want to save and move those files and folders to one of our external hard drives.  Then we proceed with the reformatting process. While your hard drive is being reformatted we thoroughly scan your selected files for all types of viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, malware and other malicious infections to ensure that when these are copied back to your hard drive they are virus free.

The entire reformatting and reinstallation process and can take one hour to 3 or 4 hours, depending on the size of your hard drive, your operating system and other software you want reinstalled.  Most of the time reformatting your hard drive will resolve most of the issues you were having with your desktop or laptop.  Unfortunately, sometimes the hard drive and all the data can not be saved and you just have to purchase a new hard drive. This is very disheartening and frustrating to our clients.  That is why we strongly recommend to all our clients to backup their data to a flash drive, DVD, CD or slave drive (secondary hard drive) on a regular basis.
